Resident Care Associate

Position Title Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA)/Resident Care Associate Department and Reporting Department: Nursing Reports To: Resident Care Director Position Summary The essential functions of this position may be amended and include, but are not limited to, the following: Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state, and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines. Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED. Must possess a Certified Nurse's Aide certificate or Personal Care Aide Certificate. Work well with peers and maintain compassion and dignity for residents, adhering to the Resident Bill of Rights. May be called back during emergency conditions. Adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and employment terms in the Employee Handbook. Read, write, speak, and understand English. Maintain the highest standards in caring for residents and family members. Adhere to all facility policies and procedures. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Provide direct care to residents and report care provided and condition changes to the Resident Care Director promptly. Assist residents with lifts, moves, and transports using proper body mechanics or lifting devices. Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, and personnel courteously within established time frames. Be knowledgeable of individualized care plans and support residents accordingly. Support care planning by providing information and observations to the charge nurse or care planning staff. Communicate and interact effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors. Understand residents' rights and report any abuse or violations promptly. Perform job responsibilities following safety and infection control procedures, including hand hygiene, glove use, and skin integrity maintenance. Arrive to work at the scheduled time. Perform other related duties as required. Ensure residents and families receive high-quality service in a compassionate atmosphere. Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, or hazardous chemicals. Report work‑related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor. Complete all assigned training and skill competence as a condition of employment. Participate in life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfill responsibilities during facility emergency plan activation. Assist with evacuation of residents in emergencies. Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information. Report policy non‑compliance or breaches to appropriate personnel. Protect residents from abuse and cooperate with investigations. Report any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment to supervisor or administrator. Report retaliation or discrimination to the Human Resource Director and Compliance Officer. Report suspicions of crime to law enforcement and state agency. Perform other duties as requested. Annual Health Requirements Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test. Physical and Sensory Requirements Move intermittently throughout the workday. Coping with mental and emotional stress of the position. See and hear or use prosthetics to ensure adequate function. Meet general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination. Relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes agitated residents. Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum of 50 feet. Assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations as necessary. #J-18808-Ljbffr
