The Weapon Systems Engineering group is seeking an intern to help us address complex engineering challenges for advanced missile defense systems. We are a team of experts whose goals are to conceive and assess real-world missile systems, perform laboratory / field testing, conduct in-depth analysis of post-processed data, and present findings to sponsors and the war-fighter. As a Mission Systems Engineering Intern... Your primary responsibility will be to develop tools to generate, visualize, and analyze simulated guided missile data through the use of high-fidelity and mixed-fidelity simulations. Assist in the development and efficient use of containerized software Use real world data to verify and validate complex models. Present key findings to various internal stakeholders and peers. Are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Applied Math Have a passion for advanced computing, simulations, data analysis, and autonomous air vehicles. Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python Demonstrated ability in developing, testing or troubleshooting software in a Linux environment Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked.
