Retail Part-Time Assistant Store ManagerHot JobVillage Square - Woodmere, OH 44122## OverviewSalary Range$17.00 Hourly## Description**Position Overview**At Malley’s Chocolates, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering an exceptional store experience, maintaining operational excellence, and leading a high-performing team. This role is key to creating a welcoming, productive environment that reflects Malley’s values. The Assistant Store Manager leads by example, motivates team members, and ensures smooth day-to-day operations.---**Key Responsibilities****Inspirational Leadership*** Lead with positivity and integrity, supporting the Store Manager in modeling professional behavior.* Foster a collaborative and high-energy work environment.* Recognize individual and team achievements to build morale.* Encourage team members to take initiative and ownership of their roles.* Communicate clearly with the team to keep everyone aligned on goals and expectations.* Support a solution-focused culture by handling challenges constructively.* Assist in mentoring and developing associates to support internal talent growth.* Participate in community outreach or local initiatives that enhance the store’s connection to its neighborhood.**Quality of Work****Customer and Associate Interactions*** Deliver outstanding customer service and coach the team to do the same.* Build loyalty through empathy, active listening, and professionalism in all interactions.**Store Presentation*** Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal.* Monitor store conditions and take initiative to make improvements.**High Expectations for Team Performance*** Help set clear performance goals and follow up regularly on progress.* Provide timely coaching and support to help team members succeed.**Procedures, Methods, and Product Knowledge*** Demonstrate strong knowledge of Malley’s operations, policies, and product offerings.* Train associates in procedures and product knowledge to ensure consistent customer experiences.* Take an active role in preparing for future leadership opportunities through ongoing learning.**Results-Driven Focus*** Assist in tracking store sales and key performance indicators.* Support the Store Manager in identifying sales trends and opportunities for growth.* Practice and promote suggestive selling techniques that increase average transaction value.* Help the team focus on strategies that drive top-line growth and contribute to store profitability.**Operational Excellence****Inventory Management*** Maintain proper inventory levels and help implement FIFO practices to reduce waste.* Support regular inventory checks and stock management routines.**Banking and Accounting*** Assist with cash handling, register balancing, and deposit preparation with accuracy and accountability.**Technology Utilization*** Use store systems effectively and help train team members on technology tools.* Help troubleshoot technical issues to ensure minimal disruption to operations.**Autonomy and Initiative*** Actively take ownership of delegated responsibilities and daily store functions.* Identify and resolve operational issues proactively.* Encourage team responsibility and independence in their roles.**Adaptability and Continuous Improvement*** Adapt quickly to changes in store procedures or company initiatives.* Support and contribute to ongoing process improvements and team innovation.* Promote a flexible, solutions-focused culture among the team.---**Benefits*** Competitive hourly wage* Opportunities for promotion and career growth* Health, dental, and vision benefits for full-time positions* Employee discount on all Malley’s Chocolates* Paid time off and holiday pay## Qualifications**Qualifications*** 1–2 years of retail experience, with some supervisory or keyholder responsibility preferred.* Strong leadership and communication skills.* Customer-first mindset with a commitment to Malley’s high service standards.* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.* Basic understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and inventory control.
