Mission Critical Due Diligence and Planning Project Manager

HDR is looking for a project manager whose experience focuses on client development and delivery of front end due diligence and planning for data center projects. The ideal candidate should have a proven background in successfully delivering various data center and mission critical projects ranging from site selection due diligence to master/campus planning and pre-design site development activities. This position is an opportunity to join one of the largest, fastest growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry. In addition to managing and delivery projects (which is the primary focus of this role), the successful candidate must possess the drive, experience and charisma needed to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand upon HDR’s reputation within these markets. This individual will manage multi-disciplinary planning and design teams from project conception to completion. Keen focus on organizational skills and follow-through are required to be successful in this role. This person will work closely with the Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers as well as our global TMT client management team. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.In the role of Project Manager (Data Center due diligence and planning), we'll count on you to:Plan and manage all aspects of due diligence and front-end planning projects for Data Centers, with potential to work in Semiconductor, Industrial, and Infrastructure projects as well. Role will also directly support client Program Management team on large scale projectsManage and lead multi-disciplinary project teams consisting of engineers, scientists, and specialists to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction10-30% Travel to project sites and client meetings, including international if neededControl project budget, scope, and scheduleEnsure product deliverables meet quality standardsForecasting, Invoicing and contract managementPromote HDR through regular client interfaceMission Critical staff recruiting working closely with the Business Group ManagerCreate vital proposal content including scope, schedule and budgetLead HDR at interview presentationsWork cooperatively with local office leads, other business group leads, technical directors and marketing managersActively participates in project pursuits and developing project scopeIndependently coordinate work of professional staff of Architects and/or EngineersEstablish client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetingsParticipate in reviews with various governing agencies for complianceConduct work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with multidisciplinary staffCoordinate workload through entire project development, and ensure completion of documents on scheduleTrack financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to scheduleFacilitates/participates in project reviews in collaboration with Accounting and technical team management.Perform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or ArchitectureProfessional Engineer or Licensed Project Management Professional #LI-BM1QualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field 7 years related experience A minimum of 2 years project management experience Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
