Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for greeting guests at the door. The host/hostess seats and presents clean menus to guests in a friendly, professional and quick manner and is also responsible for bussing and resetting tables and fulfilling to-go orders.

Essential Functions

1. Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of specials and soups.

2. Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations.

3. Takes names on a waiting list.

4. Runs the floor plan board.

5. Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.

6. Buses (clears dishes and debris from tables) and resets tables with appropriate dishware and supplies.

7. Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.

8. Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area.

9. Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.

10. Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience.

11. Takes to-go orders from guests, enters them into the POS, takes applicable payment, retrieves order from kitchen and presents it to guest.

12. Sweeps foyer and front entrance area frequently.

13. Performs other duties as directed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

A restaurant and bar environment. The work station may be drafty due to its location by the door, and the work environment noise level can be loud. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping and tripping.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Walk and stand during entire shift.

• Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.

• Remain stationary for long periods of time.

• Be able to lift up to 45 lbs.

• Be able to manipulate fingers, hands and arms to cut, measure, pour, serve, carry and wipe.

• Must be able to read, write and determine wait time based on the company’s procedures.

• Must be able to visually scan restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables.

• This position requires frequent washing of hands.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Frequent day, evening and/or weekend shifts may be required.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

1. None

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Prior restaurant experience.

2. High school diploma or GED.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Must be eligible for and maintain SIDA badge required to work in airport.

Work Authorization

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
