PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (Part-Time)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (Part-Time) to join our healthcare team in Orange Park, FL. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional nursing care to patients in the preoperative and post-anesthesia care units, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes throughout the surgical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery by conducting preoperative assessments and verifying medical histories.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during the post-anesthesia recovery phase.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to established protocols.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding preoperative and postoperative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies in the PreOp and PACU settings.
- Function as Pharmacy Nurse ensuring organization and inventory of medications.
- Perform crash cart checks and environmental rounding.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Experience in Preoperative (PreOp) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
