Work Environment

As a Nurse Practitioner in our urgent care clinic, you will work onsite in a modern hospital setting equipped with the latest medical technology. Key Responsibilities

• Provide thorough patient assessments, diagnoses, and urgent care treatments, including physical examinations and collaborative care options.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, lab specimens, and EKGs to inform patient care decisions.
• Efficiently triage and manage patients to optimize workflow and minimize wait times, ensuring that each patient receives timely care.
• Perform minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure, incision and drainage (I&D), and foreign body removal, demonstrating proficiency in hands-on medical techniques.
• Administer regional anesthesia and perform digital blocks as necessary, ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Conduct various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including joint injections, aspirations of cysts, and starting intravenous (IV) fluids.
• Manage healthcare tasks such as patient callbacks, lab result reviews, and coordinating efficient follow-ups.
• Lead and oversee daily clinic operations, mentoring and supporting advanced practice clinicians in best practices and clinical competencies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will provide care to a diverse patient population, ranging from children to adults with varying healthcare needs. Your ability to adapt communication and treatment strategies based on the individual needs of patients is crucial. You will play an essential role in addressing urgent medical issues and delivering high-quality care that enhances patient health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a valid New York Nurse Practitioner license are required. Additionally, current national certification is a must for this position.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in an emergency department, urgent care center, or similar healthcare environment.
• Possession of current, unrestricted medical licenses including a Controlled Substance License and an active DEA number.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including two full weekends per month (for full-time positions).
• Demonstrated competency in performing a variety of medical procedures relevant to urgent care.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience in urgent care or emergency medicine is required, candidates with more extensive backgrounds in trauma care, acute care settings, or pediatric urgent care will be given strong consideration. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with telehealth technologies are advantages that will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
