We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Requirements Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between stakeholders and technical teams , ensuring that project requirements are accurately gathered, analyzed, and documented to drive successful product and system development. As a Software Requirements Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the foundation of our projects and ensuring their alignment with business objectives and user needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirements Gathering:
   
   • Collaborate with stakeholders, users, and clients to elicit, analyze, and prioritize project requirements.
   • Conduct workshops, interviews, and surveys to fully understand business and technical needs.
2. Documentation:
   
   • Translate complex needs into clear, actionable specifications.
   • Develop detailed requirements documentation, including functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and use cases.
3. Collaboration:
   
   • Work closely with developers, designers, project managers, and other team members to ensure requirements are clearly understood and feasible.
   • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Requirements Management:
   
   • Track, manage, and document changes to requirements as the project evolves.
   • Ensure alignment between project goals and requirements to avoid scope creep.
5. Validation and Verification:
   
   • Assist in defining acceptance criteria and validate that the final product meets the agreed-upon requirements.
   • Participate in testing activities to confirm that requirements are fulfilled.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in requirements engineering, business analysis, or a related role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• Certification in business analysis or requirements engineering (e.g., CBAP, IREB).
• Knowledge of system modeling techniques, such as UML or BPMN.

Job Titles Synonymous with Requirements Engineer:

• Systems Requirements Engineer
• Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, or similar).
• Understanding of both technical systems and business processes.

Additional Information

Must reside in Washington State. No sponsorship at this time.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $110,000-160,000.00 per year DOE
