REGISTERED NURSE - OBSERVATION / CLINICAL DECISION UNIT - 36 HOURS - NIGHT SHIFT Sign On Bonus: $7,500 Full-Time Benefit Eligible Shift: Nights, 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM, rotating weekends and holidays Unit Description Henry Ford St. John Hospital’s Observation / Clinical Decision Unit is a 28‑bed unit specializing in ambulatory patients (e.g., chest pain, TIA, abdominal pain, home falls, etc.). As an extension of the Emergency Department, staff occasionally float between Emergency and Observation as needed. We are a team of physicians (stationed in the department), registered nurses, and patient care technicians. All educational backgrounds and experiences are welcome; we provide training to ensure success in this environment. Responsibilities Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health‑care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. Certifications / Licensure Required Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
