HiFyve is hiring a Refrigeration Technician in the Food & Beverage Manufacturing industry in Joplin, MO!

Pay: $36.00–$37.75/hour (Night Shift)

Shift: Nights

Location: Joplin, MO

About the Role

This role supports plant operations by maintaining and repairing ammonia refrigeration systems in a manufacturing environment. The Refrigeration Technician focuses on preventative maintenance, system troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement to ensure safe, reliable equipment performance.

 Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems
• Monitor system performance using gauges, instruments, and testing procedures
• Diagnose issues, dismantle equipment, and complete repairs or installations
• Accurately document all maintenance activities and completed work
• Communicate equipment issues or production risks to operations and leadership
• Assist with training and troubleshooting to minimize downtime
• Support parts and supplies inventory by reporting low stock levels
• Anticipate parts needs and follow proper purchasing procedures
• Maintain compliance with safety, GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities
• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with state and federal regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Trade or technical school training preferred
• 2–4 years of ammonia refrigeration experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Ability to work independently and assist with complex repairs
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use common maintenance tools and basic computer systems
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• English proficiency required
