Licensed Practical Nurse - Southwestern Veterans' Center (1st, 2nd, & 3rd Shift)

Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse role at the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs offers a chance to make a real difference every day. At the Southwestern Veterans Center, you will support veterans and spouses by providing dependable and compassionate care, building strong connections while working in a team that values respect and service. Responsibilities Health Assessment Support: Assist the RN by checking resident health status and ensuring accurate and confidential documentation Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments, verify pharmacy orders, and maintain accurate records Resident Observation: Observe residents for changes or concerns and report findings while documenting daily care activities Care Coordination: Work with the RN to help plan and adjust resident care and participate in nursing committees when needed Safety and Hygiene: Ensure residents are clean, safe, and well‑groomed while supporting infection control practices Specialized Care: Provide focused care for residents in specialty units such as Alzheimer care Work Hours and Additional Information Full‑time employment: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week. Positions are available on the following shifts:

1. st shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) with a 30‑minute lunch
2. nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) with a 30‑minute lunch
3. rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) with a 30‑minute lunch

Rotating days and weekends. Working every other weekend is required. Telework: Not available. Salary: Starting annual salary $68,914.00 (before taxes) for new hires in Pennsylvania. DMVA Nursing Referral Program: Eligible employees and referred candidates may receive payments of up to $4,000. Qualifications Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania. Temporary practice permit holders must obtain licensure within one (1) year as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. PA residency requirement is waived for this title. If you have completed a licensed practical nursing program within 60 days, you may apply. Proof of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or Licensed Practical Nurse license must be shown at appointment. Must be able to perform essential job functions.
