No two weeks look the same: you'll move between short-duration residential projects, repairs, renovations, warranty work, and property services jobs across some of Vermont's finest homes.Skills can be taught. Work-life balance here isn't a slogan; it's how we operate.Our Special Projects team is Silver Maple's small, agile crew — typically projects under 15 working days, often in beautiful, occupied homes. You'll work together with the Special Projects Project Manager, who handles the scoping, scheduling, and client coordination so you can focus on doing your best work. It's the right fit for a carpenter who likes seeing projects through from start to finish, solving problems on the fly, and being trusted to work independently.What You'll DoExecute high-quality carpentry on short-duration residential projects — repairs, renovations, warranty and corrective work, and capital improvementsHandle a wide range of work in a single week: framing, trim, doors, cabinetry, siding, decks, and skilled troubleshooting to match existing finishesWork respectfully and discreetly in occupied homes — protecting client privacy, property, finishes, furnishings, and daily routinesPartner closely with your Project Manager on scope, sequencing, discoveries, and punch lists so projects reach full completion the first timeRead blueprints and follow detailed construction plans; flag unknowns and site conditions earlyKeep jobsites clean, safe, and buttoned up at the end of every dayRepresent Silver Maple's reputation for craftsmanship in every client interactionWhat You BringStrong general carpentry skills, with experience in both structural and finish workVersatility and confidence working solo or on a small crew, with the judgment to know when to ask questionsA client-friendly, professional presence — you'll often be the face of Silver Maple in someone's homeProficiency with hand tools and safe use of power toolsCommitment to jobsite safety (OSHA and company guidelines)Reliability, punctuality, and a team-first attitudePhysical ability to lift, stand, and work in varied conditionsValid driver's license and reliable transportation — this role travels between multiple project sitesPrevious residential remodeling, service, or repair experience preferredWhat We Offer$27–$36/hour, paid weekly, based on your skills and experience15 days paid time off plus 7 paid holidaysComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchingCommuter bonus and mileage reimbursementVariety, autonomy, and a clear path to grow — Special Projects is where broad skills get builtNo resume required — come meet usWe believe the right fit starts with a conversation, not paperwork.Join us for weekly career days.
