Overview Job Posting: Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) – Department of FI$Cal. JC-511090. Salary range: $6,623.00 - $8,290.00 per month. Final filing date: 4/2/2026. Application methods: Electronic (CalCareer) or By Mail/Drop-off. The Accounting Administrator I is part of a collaborative team that supports the FI$Cal system. In this role, you would assist departments that use FI$Cal by answering questions, providing guidance, and helping them complete their transactions successfully. A key part of the job involves customer support, researching issues, resolving system problems, and serving as a subject matter expert for the Project Costing area of the system. You may also assist with other accounting functions as needed. You will work closely with different teams across the department, participate in workgroups and special process-improvement teams, and support others in using a large statewide financial system. Responsibilities Provide customer support and guidance to FI$Cal users; assist with completing transactions and resolving system issues. Serve as a subject matter expert for the Project Costing area of FI$Cal. Collaborate with cross-department teams, participate in workgroups and process-improvement initiatives. Provide back-up support to ensure continuity of departmental activities as needed. New to State candidates may be hired at the minimum salary or alternate range when applicable. Additional Details Number of Positions: 1 Work Location: Telework – Hybrid Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Working Conditions Remote-centered position with telework up to three days per week; in-office attendance on designated days. Office located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. California residency proof required before appointment for out-of-state applicants. Relocation and commute costs are the employee’s responsibility. Prolonged sitting in an office environment; must maintain a discrimination- and harassment-free workspace; regular, predictable attendance; adherence to policies and procedures. Department Information FI$Cal operates the statewide financial system, consolidating accounting, budgeting, cash management, and procurement operations. The department emphasizes transparent and efficient budgeting and financial management. This position is in the Business Operation & Solutions Division (BOSD). Desirable Qualifications Analytical experience, training/presentation experience, desk procedure/manual development, FI$Cal system experience, accounts receivable experience, month-end close and year-end close, lease administration experience.
