This position will report to the Director of Parish Faith Formation & DiscipleshipMinisterial Character:The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church. When this is a full-time position, the employee is eligible for medical insurance and other benefits offered by the Diocese of Corpus Christi.Responsibilities:The list below reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the primary functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.As an integral part of ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal lifeAct as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic ChurchContinuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directedAssist with registrations, forms, payments, and database managementMaintain communication systems including Flocknotes/OSV and ministry recordsAssist with calendars, bulletin submissions, and schedulingPrepare catechist materials and classroom suppliesSupport volunteer coordination and check-in systemsAssist with event logistics, ministry setup, and session coordinationMaintain reports, attendance systems, and operational recordsAssist with finance/payment support and ministry supply orderingSupport High School Youth, Middle School Youth, OCIC, Parent Formation, OCIA, Sacramental Preparation and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd programsProvide department support including evenings and weekends as neededPerform other duties as assignedStandard Expectations & Ministry Responsibilities:Work as a team with the entire parish staff in order to advance the goals of the Office of Faith Formation and Discipleship while respecting and supporting the needs of the parish as a wholeCommunicate, market, and advertise on behalf of the Office of Faith Formation and Discipleship and the parishServe as a liaison between the parish and diocesan officesFoster and encourage a relationship with our Triune God, our Blessed Mother Mary, and all the holy men and women of the ChurchEncourage individuals and families to discern God's will in their livesAssist and collaborate with the Director of Parish Faith Formation and Discipleship in all events sponsored by that officeMental/Physical Demands:Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or moreAbility to maintain composure under duress; maintain emotional control under stressMust maintain confidentiality of the departmentMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Theology, Ministry, Religious Studies, or a related field preferredAt least two years of ministry experience preferredFormation/Certification of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd preferredKnow the basic teachings of the Catholic Church and live by them with an openness to learn more about the FaithFood handler's license preferredValid Texas driver's licenseSpecial Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills with attention to customer serviceStrong organization skills and attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and prioritize tasksStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively with a teamAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, parish & Diocesan communityAbility to maintain confidentiality and use discretionProficiency with computer hardware and basic office softwareAdditional Requirements:Must successfully complete pre-employment screening including criminal history background check, motor vehicle record review (MVR), and drug screeningCertification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office for Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources is requiredMust adhere to all Diocesan policies and procedures throughout the entire employment periodTo be considered for employment with the Diocese of Corpus Christi locations, all interested individuals must complete the online application at #J-18808-Ljbffr
