Phlebotomist

Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood specimen collection, and conduct waived/moderate complexity testing while maintaining instrument quality control and preventive maintenance. Remain up‑to‑date on policy and procedural changes, attend continuing education programs, distribute specimen collection supplies, and communicate patient concerns to supervisors. Ensure timely completion of labs, maintain lab records, and document all invasive procedures and patient refusals in medical records. Comply with all standard safety policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of patient information while exhibiting excellent customer service and attention to detail. Demonstrate competence to provide developmentally appropriate care and treatment for the current patient population, and work on a scheduled shift basis, including holidays as required. Qualifications & Requirements Education High school diploma or equivalent required; documented successful completion of a phlebotomy course required. Experience Prior experience in a correctional setting preferred. Licenses/Certifications Requires unrestricted current certification or registration in the state of practice where required.
