Communities In Schools (CIS) is seeking a passionate, community-minded Production Associate to join our team at the CIS Thrift Store. Our store supports local students and families, with proceeds benefiting CIS programs and services. Job Summary The Production Associate plays a critical role in transforming donated items into high-quality, sellable merchandise. Working primarily in the backroom/production area, this role directly impacts store sales volume and revenue through efficient processing, quality control, and merchandising support. The Production Associate collaborates with Donor Services and Guest Services teams to ensure a steady, organized flow of product to the sales floor. Responsibilities Production & Processing: Sort donated items by category according to established guidelines; inspect items for quality control; price items using company pricing standards; tag and prepare merchandise for display. Product Flow & Productivity: Move products through donation intake, sorting, pricing, and sales floor placement; meet or exceed daily and weekly production targets; maintain a steady workflow to support inventory needs. Sales Floor Support: Assist with stocking, pulling, and rotating merchandise; ensure merchandise is presented in an organized and appealing manner; provide basic guest assistance on the floor. Team Collaboration: Partner with Donor Services and Guest Services Associates to ensure smooth operations; communicate with supervisors regarding production progress and inventory needs. Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines. Qualifications Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment Strong attention to detail and quality standards Ability to lift, move, and sort donated goods (moderate physical activity) Strong organizational and time management skills Team-oriented with a positive, mission-driven attitude Basic customer service skills preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move items of varying weights Frequent bending, reaching, and sorting activities Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous retail, warehouse, production, or thrift store experience is a plus, but not required Ability to lift 20 pounds unassisted #J-18808-Ljbffr Communities In Schools of South Central Texas
