Occ Med Assistant

Pay: 22-26+/hr (based on experience) Location: Northeast Portland Clinic | 6633 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, OR 97213 Employment Type: Full-Time | ~40 hours/week Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm POSITION SUMMARY: Welcome to AFC Urgent Care Northeast Portland -- where we're flipping the script on healthcare culture! ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Occupational Medicine Services Work as Medical Assistant to complete weekly Occ Med appointments and all follow up work as needed Dive into occupational health services and physicals — from start to finish Show off your clinical skills: draw blood, give vaccines, run drug screens, and set up EKGs like a pro Assists in training of staff for new Occ Med accounts where new forms/tests are being performed Scheduling & Workflow Coordination Work with all Occ Med patients on Clockwise/scheduling queue. Work together as a team, but own your queue of Occupational Medicine visits. Ensures appointments are set correctly on schedule, and that all necessary Authorization Forms or protocols are being appropriately followed. Assistant will ensure a smooth Occ Med workflow; getting Occ Med appointments in and through the clinic with the least amount of disturbance and wait time. Tasked with scheduling follow ups or return visits for patients. Be a key communication bridge — help patients get the info they need, fast Results & Documentation Complete all Occ Med scanning into EMR; results to be in system within 24 hours of visit Send Occ Med results to employers per protocol Serve as a point person to reach out to clinics when results are not received or need changes. Keep patient records sharp and up-to-date in our EMR system (we use Experity) Equipment Calibration & Maintenance Occ Med Assistant will follow selected Calibration Schedule report and ensure the following equipment is calibrated on a regular schedule basis Work to communicate any needed Occ Med supplies in clinic. Communicate any issues or abnormalities on POs to Sales Managers for prompt attention Report any issues and possible errors to Clinic Manager and Occ Med Sales Manager. Equipment Calibration needed: ie. Spirometry/EKG, Audio, BAT, Grip Strength, Pinch, Push/pull other Occ Med equipment as added) Keep the clinic humming by stocking supplies and prepping equipment Make sure everything’s running smoothly with daily checks on meds, supplies, and sterilization logs Patient Care & Clinical Support Be the right hand to our providers — assist in procedures and deliver exceptional care Own the triage process: take vitals, assess needs, and help patients feel at ease Flex your versatility by jumping in at the front desk when needed (scheduling, check-ins, insurance) Communication & General Responsibilities Assists with communication between clinics, clients, and Sales Department team & managers Operates within established parameters and influences development and/or decisions regarding new policy or guidelines. Must exhibit authority within scope of responsibility and requires innovation/tenacity to improve internal processes. Be ready for anything — pitch in where needed and grow while doing it! QUALIFICATIONS Required High School Diploma or GED Certificate from a Certified Medical Assistant program Preferred 1+ year experience in a medical office, preferred (urgent care experience is a bonus!) X-ray experience (RT or LXMO)? Even better!
