The posted compensation range of $63.10 - $93.87 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Supervisor, you will be a vital leader and clinical expert, ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate pharmaceutical care delivery, while guiding your team to uphold medication management standards. Every day, you will lead pharmacy operations, including workflow and performance. You'll meticulously review prescriptions for safety (interactions, dosing, allergies), authorize them for technicians, and perform final dispensing checks, ensuring expert oversight. You'll also collaborate with doctors/nurses, providing expertise to optimize patient treatment and enhance services. To be successful in this role, you will combine comprehensive clinical knowledge with proven leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills. Your ability to foster learning, drive operational excellence, and deliver innovative, patient-focused care is essential.

  • Plans and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the department to meet the financial objectives in labor, revenue and gross margins.
  • Coordinates and oversees pharmacy aspects related to compounding and dispensing of drugs in accordance with medication orders issued by authorized medical care providers.
  • Supervises, instructs and mentors pharmacist staff, interns, residents, externs, students, technicians and nonpharmacy staff in the execution of duties and ensures adherence to policies and procedures in a positive, constructive and motivating manner.
  • Assists employees with complex/unprecedented/ambiguous matters, reviews elevated issues/situations and takes action consistent with assigned scope of authority.
  • Participates in the development and administration of the annual department budget.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) and minimum of 2 years related experience, upon hire or
  • Registered Pharmacist with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy in good standing-(RPH)

Preferred

  • 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience or successful completion of a Pharmacy Administrative Residency
