Sub Nurse

Position Title: School Nurse Reports to: Director of Special Education FSLA: Exempt Summary of the position To provide the fullest possible educational opportunity for each corporation student by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well‑being in the school. Qualifications A current license of Nursing in the State of Indiana. Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and have an RN degree. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Assess, identify, and monitor the physical, emotional, and social needs of students and school personnel. Assist students and school personnel who become ill or are injured at school. Provide health counseling and follow‑up to students, their families, and school personnel. Assist teachers in adapting the school program to meet the individual needs of all students. Schedule and conduct vision and scoliosis screening tests and assist with hearing screening. Implement operational procedures for dispensing prescription and non‑prescription medications in the school in accordance with Corporation's medication Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of the job successfully.
