Details Work as a Case Manager in a 407-bed acute care hospital setting Level II Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska Day shift schedule (5x8 hours), with start times ranging between 0700-0830 and end times between 1530-1700 Required to work every other weekend or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule No on-call responsibilities Floating required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals to meet facility needs Uses Epic EMR system Requirements Active AK RN license in hand required BLS certification required; ACM-RN certification preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Acute care hospital experience required Epic EMR experience required Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level II experience preferred Case management skills including care coordination, continued stay reviews, medical necessity determination, discharge planning, and utilization review Familiarity with InterQual Criteria, Milliman Guidelines, and workers' compensation case management preferred Knowledge of CMS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, and Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Patient Safety Goals preferred 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted) Additional Information Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, continued stay reviews, determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines, DME needs assessment, plan of care development, and pre-certification/prior authorization reviews Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted Scrubs are provided by the facility Parking is free Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Only 1 time-off request of 5 days or less permitted per 13-week assignment; no holiday time off permitted Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year in an assignment before requiring a 6-month break to return to the same facility First-time travelers are welcome to apply Housing options in the area may be limited American Traveler Job ID P-745171.
