Job Posting – Machinist

Position Summary

Preformed Line Products is seeking a skilled Machinist to manufacture, repair, and modify precision components, fixtures, tooling, and production support equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with manual and CNC machining, blueprint reading, fabrication, and troubleshooting manufacturing-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, surface grinders, and conventional machine tools.
• Machine, repair, and modify precision components, fixtures, and tooling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Perform milling, turning, drilling, grinding, and fitting operations.
• Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve tooling, equipment, and manufacturing-related issues.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of machining practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with manual machining equipment required.
• CNC setup and programming experience preferred.
• Toolroom, mold repair, or fixture-building experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Formal machinist trades training preferred.
