Finance Business Analyst

GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION The Finance Business Analyst reports to the Workday Finance Associate Architect and supports the Ivy Tech vendor management process and other financial systems. The role is part of the Ivy Tech Finance Center of Agility (FCOA) team in the Business Affairs department, managing a portfolio of Financial and Payroll applications, integrations, and reports primarily through Workday. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Configure and support Workday Core Financials, Payroll, Projects, Grants, Procurement, and other applicable Workday applications. Support bi‑annual Workday upgrade processes, including evaluating and testing new functionality. Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from internal customers and stakeholders. Document and analyze new supplier requests through the Ivy Tech Supplier onboarding system; create and maintain supplier information in the Supplier Portal and Workday. Send Supplier Onboarding vendor invitations for Systems Office supplier requests. Conduct root‑cause analysis for break/fix and support issues and develop appropriate action plans. Draft and revise Business Affairs policies and procedures based on new system requirements and functionality. Build and support basic Workday reports using tools such as Report Writer, Discovery Boards, and Worksheets. Acquire in‑depth knowledge of Ivy Tech’s business to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains. Develop partnerships with Ivy Tech Workday module analysts, users, and administrators. Collaborate and contribute to Workday community user groups. Assist with occasional end‑user training and update training manuals. Provide functional oversight of technical integrations. Assist in updating training manuals. Some travel within the state may be required. Act as back‑up for Workday Community, managing communications with Workday Support for designated modules. SUPERVISION Received: Workday Finance Associate Architect Given: None HIRING RANGE $65,000 – $70,000 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years of business analysis, technical business analysis, and/or project management experience. Strong foundation in analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in documenting and analyzing processes and procedures. Excellent communication and customer‑service skills. Willingness to learn new functions and technologies. Background in computer science, finance, or accounting is highly desirable.
