CENTER DIRECTOR
BVCAP Head Start
Job Summary : Manages center level staff and oversees daily operations of Early/Head Start facility according to the Head Start Program Performance Standards. Participates in monthly and quarterly meetings with Regional Specialists and the Head Start Director to share center-level reports, concerns, and successes. Responsible for supervision and management of the assigned Early/Head Start center and teaching a classroom of 0-5-year-old children using an age-appropriate research‑based curriculum. Responsibilities Oversee the entirety of center staff and ensure job requirements are met. Collaborate with staff, families, and the community as part of a team. Supervise and monitor children at all times to maintain a safe environment; respond quickly to active children needing restraint or redirection. Respond appropriately to emergencies or crises. Monitor classroom and outdoor play events continuously, moving quickly to ensure safety. Interact with children at their eye level (sitting, kneeling, stooping, bending). Ensure obligation of education, family services, health, social services, nutrition, and mental health support for income‑eligible families. Compile, analyze, and submit all center-level program information reports to Regional Specialists and the Head Start Director within mandated timelines. Facilitate monthly meetings with center-level staff to discuss program updates, concerns, and successes. Perform additional duties as required based on program model, site needs, and location. Qualifications Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred). At least two years of experience managing an early childhood program. Flexibility to schedule and accommodate family needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. Computer proficiency in word processing and e‑mail. Valid license. Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. Position contingent upon successful completion of a federal background check. Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear; walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Must have adequate vision for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. #J-18808-Ljbffr
