Veterinary Technician

Position Details Role: Experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant Status: Full-time Salary: Negotiable and based on experience Schedule: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM with a two-hour lunch break from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM; every other Saturday from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Experience: Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience required Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with patient exams, treatments, and procedures Provide compassionate nursing care to a variety of small animal and exotic patients Safely handle and restrain patients Support surgical and orthopedic procedures Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement Collect and process laboratory samples Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed Assist with radiographs and diagnostic procedures Maintain accurate and complete medical records Educate clients and clearly communicate veterinary recommendations Support behavioral and nutritional consultations as needed Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to keep the hospital running smoothly Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment Qualifications Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience Strong patient care and animal-handling skills Experience assisting with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery Comfort with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures Strong client communication and education skills Excellent organization and attention to detail The ability to stay calm and professional in a busy hospital environment A positive attitude and willingness to support your teammates A desire to learn, grow, and share your knowledge A strong work ethic and reliable approach to patient care A team‑first mindset and sense of humor A commitment to providing compassionate, high‑quality veterinary medicine Benefits Highlights Competitive pay with 401(k) matching and Roth Retirement Savings Plan Tuition support, state license and VTNE fee reimbursement, and continuing education allowance Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with supplemental options Up to three weeks of paid parental leave and generous PTO Quarterly team rewards bonus program and uniform allowance Employee assistance program and pet‑related discounts Six paid holidays (full‑time only) and a flexible work schedule Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values at Springboro Veterinary Clinic and Vetcor.
