Housekeeping Staff

Department: Environmental Services


FLSA Classification: Non - Exempt

Reports to: Director of Environmental Services

Overview of the Position:

The Housekeeping Staff provide the day-to-day housekeeping in the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility and to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative Functions:

• Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be (NOTE: Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur.)
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.

Admission, Transfer, and Discharge Functions:

• For an admission, review the overall cleanliness of the room. Assure that all equipment is functional, clean and in good condition. Report problems to your supervisor.
• When a resident is discharged, sanitize the mattress, thoroughly, clean the bed, bed rails, over-bed table, side table, clothing locker and drawers. Advise your supervisor of the status of the paint, blinds, etc.

Experience:

At least 6 months to 1 year experience. On-the-job training provided.
