Senior Director, CTIO Engineering Technologists

About the Role From applied research to advanced engineering, the Engineering Technologist team shapes groundbreaking products, materials, and processes. This role involves assessing competition, developing technology and product strategies, generating intellectual property, and leading technology investigations that influence product architecture. Position : Senior Director, CTIO Engineering Technologists Location : Austin, Texas or Santa Clara, California Key Responsibilities Lead a team of highly skilled SMEs in developing next‑generation large‑scale AI systems, including accelerated compute, AI fabrics, AI‑optimized storage, and AI software stack. Assimilate industry and competitive data to derive technology/product strategy. Conduct technology investigations, perform strategic industry analysis, and develop recommendations that influence product strategy and/or definition. Engage with design teams, systems engineering, marketing, suppliers, and senior leadership to ensure strategy aligns with Dell’s product‑leadership requirements. Essential Qualifications 18 years of overall experience with at least 5 years leading and directing strategic and operational objectives of an organization. Experience developing long‑term technology strategies based on technical and business information. Ability to drive internal and external alignment of strategy. Experience identifying and developing differentiation opportunities, providing technical information, and making recommendations to marketing, procurement, engineering, customers, and executives. Participation in strategic initiatives for improvements in process, quality, and cost. Desirable Qualifications Advanced degree such as PhD, Masters, or equivalent experience. Compensation Salary range: $277,000 to $358,000.
