Emergency Room Registered Nurse

The role involves working in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment. It requires handling trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes. The facility has 20 beds, including 5 trauma bays and 10 observation beds. There is a dedicated triage area with 3 triage beds. Security is in-house 24/7 within the emergency department. Ratios are 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in observation, and 1:1 in ICU/Trauma. Nurse aids, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters are available with specific ratios. Registered Nurses must read and interpret telemetry strips. Shifts are scheduled at various times, with leadership making the schedule. Weekend and holiday requirements may vary based on department needs. Floating to the observation unit may be required. RTO must be provided upfront, and additional time off requests are not approved after submission. The cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to 4 shifts during the contract.
