Laundry Attendant

Job Overview Sonesta International Hotels, the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S., seeks a Laundry Attendant (LA) to support the Housekeeping Management Team in our commercial laundry facility. The LA will ensure linens and laundry are cleaned, sorted, and stored in a timely, organized manner to meet hotel laundry and linen needs, and may also perform room and public area cleaning as scheduled to maintain guest satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards. Receive, sort, and inspect all soiled items by type, color, and degree of soil. Operate washers and dryers following hotel standards and manufacturer guidelines. Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they remain sufficient and in working order. Fold and store clean linens; report damaged items to the supervisor. Clean and service assigned rooms or areas: make beds, dust, vacuum, clean and sanitize bathrooms, remove trash; may include kitchen area, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dishware, etc. Notify the supervisor when service is complete so rooms may be sold or occupied. Report unserviceable rooms and required repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor. Respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective action achieves complete guest satisfaction. Minimize waste of supplies and amenities in all laundry and housekeeping areas. Handle lost and found items according to established procedures. Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements Preferred: prior commercial laundry experience and background in extended‑stay industry. Fluent speaking, reading, and writing English; other languages beneficial. Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities. Physically capable of frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving within the facility. Ability to carry, lift or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds. Experience with commercial cleaning chemicals. Required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
