CDR ProSource is seeking an experienced and highly skilled CNC Machinist II to join a manufacturing team in Three Rivers, MI. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on CNC machining experience, including programming, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC mills and lathes. This position requires strong blueprint reading, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to independently produce precision-machined parts according to customer and quality specifications. Experience with Okuma machinery, Mastercam, SolidWorks, and multi-axis machining is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision-machined parts.
• Work with Okuma CNC machinery and other CNC machine tools.
• Utilize Mastercam and SolidWorks to support machining and programming processes.
• Perform tool change-outs, offsets, adjustments, and CNC programming as required.
• Review work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, and technical drawings before machining.
• Read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
• Program mills and lathes by establishing zero/reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and machining parameters.
• Apply mathematics, geometry, and basic trigonometry to machining and programming processes.
• Set up mills and lathes using chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and other required components.
• Verify machine settings and inspect first-run parts and sample workpieces for accuracy.
• Monitor machining operations and take measurements to ensure parts meet customer and company specifications.
• Identify machining or programming issues and perform troubleshooting, adjustments, and reprogramming as needed.
• Replace worn tools and make necessary adjustments to maintain production quality.
• Work with various materials and understand how different materials respond to machining processes.
• Build fixtures and tooling and develop machining programs independently.
• Complete required production and quality documentation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
• Communicate production issues, irregularities, and ongoing needs between shifts.
• Follow all company safety, production, and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience required.
• Strong experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes.
• Experience with Okuma CNC machinery strongly preferred.
• Experience with Mastercam and SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Experience performing tool changes, offsets, machine adjustments, and CNC programming.
• Ability to work with a variety of materials and understand their machining characteristics.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC machining; 5+ axis experience is a plus.
• Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to independently build fixtures, tooling, and develop programs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Aerospace machining experience is a plus.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and production standards.
