Job Description

This role focuses on performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on specialized molding equipment, including blow molding and injection molding machines. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues, with a strong emphasis on PLC-controlled systems, to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on blow molding and injection molding machines to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Set up, adjust, and conduct routine checks on proprietary molding machinery to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Use diagnostic tools and condition monitoring techniques to identify potential mechanical or electrical issues before equipment failures occur.
  • Troubleshoot and repair molding equipment, automated palletizers, and packaging systems using a structured, root-cause analysis approach.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC-controlled systems, particularly Allen Bradley PLCs, including program-related and hardware-related faults.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on 3-phase motors and 480V industrial systems, ensuring safe and compliant repair practices.
  • Carry out mechanical repairs and adjustments on production equipment to restore and maintain reliable operation.
  • Support facility upkeep by helping maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in shared plant areas.
  • Collaborate with the facilities and production teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize impact on production schedules.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to support continuous improvement and equipment reliability.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment, including blow molding and injection molding machines.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing molding equipment, automated palletizers, and packaging systems using systematic, root-cause methods.
  • Practical experience working with PLC-controlled equipment, specifically Allen Bradley PLCs, including PLC troubleshooting.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 3-phase motors and 480V industrial electrical systems.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude, with experience in mechanical maintenance and repair in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to perform routine equipment setup, adjustment, and inspections to maintain reliable operation.
  • Comfort using diagnostic tools and condition monitoring techniques to detect potential failures.
  • Commitment to working safely around industrial machinery and electrical systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial, electrical, or mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or plastics environment.
  • Experience in a plastic molding facility, particularly with blow molding or injection molding processes.
  • Familiarity with maintenance best practices and reliability-focused maintenance programs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with facilities and production teams to support overall plant performance.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large plastic molding facility operated by a nationwide plastics company. You will work around blow molding and injection molding equipment, automated palletizers, and packaging systems in a busy industrial plant setting. The environment includes 480V electrical systems and 3-phase motors, requiring adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. You can expect a hands-on, production-focused atmosphere where equipment reliability and safe operations are top priorities

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Bethlehem, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

401k offered, eye vision dental, alot of growth and bonuses offered.
