Through your hands-on expertise, problem-solving, and commitment to service, you'll play an important role in creating an environment where residents, families, and team members feel cared for.As a BHI Senior Living Community, the staff at The Barrington of Carmel are united in mission, we lead with compassion and provide opportunities to grow and thrive professionally.Why You'll Love Working Here:At The Barrington of Carmel, we know a fulfilling career is about more than a paycheck.We offer:Competitive salary and weekend shift differentials (certain positions)Health benefits for full- and part-time team members (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Long/Short-Term Disability)Paid Time Off from day one and Holiday Pay401K with matching contributionsProfessional development, tuition reimbursement, scholarships, and training programs to help you grow and thriveOn-site gym, daily pay option, telehealth, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)A supportive, team-oriented environment that values excellence in care and encourages staff to lead with compassion.In This Role You Will:Oversee and perform day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring preventative maintenance, repairs, and renovations are completed properly and efficiently.Monitor and complete assigned work orders while helping prioritize maintenance requests based on urgency and resident needs.Provide hands-on maintenance support and guidance to maintenance technicians, helping the team successfully complete projects and resolve challenging situations.Assist with coordinating schedules, delegating assignments, and providing training and feedback to maintenance technicians.Work with vendors and contractors on specialized maintenance needs or repairs beyond the scope of the in-house team.Build positive relationships with residents, team members, vendors, and contractors while providing courteous and professional service.Monitor maintenance expenses and track costs while identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings without compromising quality or safety.Help maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment throughout the community by identifying and addressing maintenance concerns promptly.Participate in the interviewing and hiring process for maintenance staff and support the onboarding and development of new team members.Respond to urgent or emergency maintenance needs, including after-hours calls, and communicate concerns or equipment issues to leadership as needed.Shift Details:Monday – Friday, with rotating weekendsWho You Are:You have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least two years of maintenance/facilities experience or technical training.You have basic knowledge of physical plant systems, including heating, air conditioning, electricity, and computerized systems.You are a strong problem-solver who can assess mechanical or structural issues and communicate solutions clearly.You are dependable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects and maintenance requests while meeting deadlines.You communicate respectfully and professionally and enjoy providing excellent service to residents, team members, vendors, and contractors.You are comfortable providing guidance and support to maintenance technicians and responding to urgent or after-hours maintenance needs.The Barrington of Carmel (A BHI Community) is an equal opportunity employer.
