In this role, you will manufacture custom lens assemblies and optical systems that meet precise specifications. The ideal candidate has experience in optical systems and glass fabrication, along with strong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis tools./ppKey Responsibilities/pulliGenerate precision curves using CNC equipment to meet optical specifications and tolerances./liliPerform CNC centering operations to ensure accurate alignment of optical components./liliHand bevel and block lenses for grinding and polishing processes./liliExecute hand grinding and CNC/conventional polishing to achieve required surface quality./liliConduct optical inspection and metrology to verify compliance with specifications./liliMaintain cleanliness of machines, tools, and work areas to ensure quality and safety./liliPlan and schedule work for generation, blocking, grinding, and polishing areas./liliComply with all health, safety, and PPE requirements./liliSupport company values through ethical conduct and integrity in all actions./liliPerform other duties as assigned to support production and continuous improvement./li/ulpEquipment Utilized/pulliCNC and conventional polishing machines/liliOptical inspection and metrology equipment/liliPersonal computer and JDE MRP software/liliPersonal protective equipment (PPE) and cleanroom attire/liliStandard office equipment (calculator, copier, fax, etc.)/li/ulpEducation Experience/pulliHigh school diploma or GED preferred/liliMinimum of two years of related optical fabrication experience and/or training/li/ulpKnowledge, Skills, Abilities/pulliProficiency in operating CNC curve generation machines and CNC centering equipment./liliHigh degree of accuracy and alertness when using micrometers, interferometers, and high-speed cutting wheels/liliFamiliarity with optical manufacturing terminology and processes/liliSkilled in using conventional polishing machines and performing hand grinding and beveling./liliAbility to perform optical inspection and metrology using precision instruments such as micrometers, interferometers, and other optical measurement tools./liliFamiliarity with JDE MRP software and basic computer operations./liliComfortable using standard office equipment (calculator, copier, fax, etc.)./liliUnderstanding of cleanroom protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)./liliKnowledge of optical manufacturing terminology and processes./liliStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under high-speed cutting conditions./li/ulpCore Competencies/ppAt our West Henrietta facility, success is not only about technical skillsits about how you approach challenges, collaborate, and contribute to continuous improvement.
