Youth Sports Officials

Position Title: Youth Sports Officials Location: The work to be performed under this contract will be performed at: JBSA Randolph JBSA Lackland JBSA Fort Sam Houston San Antonio, Texas. Job Type: Full Time. Requirements: Candidate shall obtain a High School Diploma or GED. Candidate shall have a minimum of 2 years experience officiating youth sports OR demonstrated knowledge of rules and gameplay of the specific sport. Candidate shall have experience working with youth in recreational or educational settings (preferred). Candidate shall obtain the following pass and identification items: Base passes IAW DAFFARS 5352.242-9000, Contractor Access to the three Joint Base San Antonio installations at time of the proposal submission and must maintain the level of security required for the life of the agreement. Duties: Eligibility & Ethical Standards Candidate shall not participate as a coach or team manager within the same age group of the sport they are officiating. Candidate must not be closely related to any participant in the sport they officiate. If such a relationship exists, the candidate is required to disclose it immediately, and a second official will assume head official duties for that game. Pre-Season Expectations Candidate shall attend a pre-season meeting with the Youth Sports & Fitness Director or Assistant Director at least 30 days before the start of the season to review sport-specific rules and By-Laws. Candidate shall confirm game schedules (date, time, and location) with the authorized government POC no less than two calendar days before each assigned game. Game-Day Duties Candidate must arrive 15 minutes before game time, in the proper uniform and with all required equipment. Candidate shall assume full authority over the conduct of the game, ensuring sportsmanship, rule enforcement, and safe play. Candidate is authorized to eject players, coaches, or spectators for unsportsmanlike behavior. Candidate shall cancel or postpone games due to misconduct, lateness, or inclement weather, with coordination from Youth Program staff when present. Candidate is responsible for turning on/off field lights for outdoor games if staff is not on site. Candidate shall collect and return all required game equipment when pre-coordinated with Youth Program staff. Reporting & Documentation Candidate shall report all injuries to Youth Sports & Fitness leadership by 08:00 the next duty day. Candidate must submit score sheets by 10:00 the next day if Youth Program staff were not on site. Candidate is required to report any ejections, protests, or incidents in writing by 08:00 the next duty day. Candidate must sign score sheets after each game and ensure at least one coach also signs to verify coverage compliance. Coverage and Coordination Candidate shall ensure full officiating coverage for all scheduled games. In the event of absence, remaining officials shall continue the game until relief arrives.
