Business Affairs Consultant

We are seeking a VP or SVP-level Business Affairs professional with deep entertainment industry experience, ideally from a streaming platform, studio, network, production company, or entertainment law firm. In this role, you will lead the negotiation, drafting, and management of development, licensing, and production agreements for original series, while partnering closely with Creative, Production, Finance, Marketing, Communications, and Legal teams. You will also oversee key above-the-line deal negotiations and provide strategic business and legal guidance throughout the content lifecycle.

 

• Pay Rate Range - $170-177 on W2 (NO C2C)

Responsibilities:

• Structure, negotiate, and draft development, licensing, and production agreements for original content.

• Lead negotiations related to talent, underlying rights, and above-the-line agreements.

• Partner with Creative, Production, Finance, Marketing, Communications, and Legal stakeholders on content-related matters.

• Review production budgets and advise on production-related issues.

• Communicate key deal terms and provide strategic business counsel across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

• 8+ years of entertainment deal-making experience at a streaming platform, network, studio, production company, or entertainment law firm.

• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience at a streaming platform.

• Experience supporting original television or streaming content.

• Experience negotiating above-the-line talent agreements.
