Senior IT Security & Infrastructure Engineer (Temporary)

Vir Biotechnology seeks a Senior IT Security & Infrastructure Engineer (temporary) to maintain and secure its technology environment, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid systems. This hands-on role combines infrastructure engineering with security operations across endpoints, identity platforms, networking, and security tools.
Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, and enhance infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows, macOS, Windows Server, Linux, AWS, networking, and virtualization systems
- Monitor security events, investigate alerts, and respond to vulnerabilities and incidents
- Develop automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency and visibility
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, assess, and remediate security risks and configuration gaps
Requirements
- Senior-level experience administering Windows, macOS, Windows Server, and Linux environments
- Demonstrated expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS) and hybrid environment management
- Strong background in IT security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Experience with identity and access management platforms (Entra ID, Active Directory, Okta)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation for infrastructure and security tasks
- Track record of troubleshooting complex multi-system issues and documentation practices
