Job Title

Surgical Services Specialty RN

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for assigned specialty service line patients from initial clinic visit through surgery or procedure and follow-up care, serving as a nurse navigator for continuity of care.
• Act as a liaison between the specialty service line care team, surgical services, providers, and patients and families.
• Provide patient care within RN scope of practice, including assessment, care planning, treatment support, monitoring, reassessment, and patient and family education.
• Follow up on outstanding orders, referrals, prior authorizations, and related documentation; review chart preparation including order verification and insurance authorization.
• Triage patient phone calls, route messages through the electronic health record, and respond to patient portal messages in a timely manner.
• Submit booking sheets for procedures, injections, and surgeries; initiate medication prior authorizations and DME paperwork as directed.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
• Current RN license required.
• Current AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of outpatient and/or hospital nursing experience required.
• Cerner electronic health record documentation experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in Pain Management, Surgical Services, Specialty Clinic, or procedural nursing settings strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems preferred.
