Optometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Assessments

We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to join our organization in conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This position with our team involves performing comprehensive eye examinations specifically for Veterans. It is a fulfilling role that does not involve treatment or decision-making, focusing entirely on assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
• Review and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
• Perform detailed eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT) .
• Accurately record examination results and complete necessary VA documentation.

Note: This position does not include treatment or medication prescriptions. Disability decisions are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) , not by the healthcare provider.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week
• Location: In-person role
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools

Requirements:

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license.
• Experience with Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Comfortable utilizing technology for record review and documentation.
