Senior Accounting Manager

Helping CFOs & Controllers Hire Top Finance & Accounting Talent in SF Bay Area Based Tech, Biotech, Investment, & CPG Companies Our Biotechnology client located on the peninsula is looking to hire a Senior Accounting Manager. This position will be based in the office on the peninsula two days a week. The ideal candidate will provide accurate and timely accounting and financial information while coordinating the daily operations of the finance team to ensure compliance with general accounting and reporting standards. Responsibilities Manage general ledger accounts and related reconciliations, manage month-end close processes, and prepare financial, managerial, and compliance reporting Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations for all GL accounts Manage month-end close in NetSuite to ensure accurate and timely reporting Prepare financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies and procedures Assess current practices, policies, procedures, and make recommendations to improve internal controls and processes, ensuring the accuracy of accounting data Streamline the month-end close and other accounting processes, reducing manual work and implementing AI to achieve some of the efficiencies Coordinate with outside auditors and tax professionals to provide needed information including managing the preparation of year-end audit and tax work papers Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Public accounting experience plus industry experience preferred CPA preferred, but not required Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent Proficiency in NetSuite Experience in a company that has inventory, product, or is a manufacturer Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and G Suite. A thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) The ability to establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and process efficiencies. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of the Company.
