Optometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Assessments

We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to join our organization in conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the disability benefits process. This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to perform comprehensive eye examinations for Veterans, focusing exclusively on assessments without treatment or determination responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
• Review and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
• Perform detailed eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Accurately document findings and complete necessary VA forms.

Note: This position does not involve treatment or medication prescriptions. Disability determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not by the provider.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week
• Location: In-person role
• Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day
• Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools

Requirements:

• Must possess an active and unrestricted Optometrist or Ophthalmologist license.
• Experience with Visual Field Testing (VFT).
• Comfortable utilizing technology for record review and documentation.
