Job Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (AP/CP) to join an established, collaborative pathology practice in South Bend, Indiana. This full-time opportunity offers a diverse general surgical pathology caseload within a fully digitized laboratory environment, with approximately 56,00070,000 cases evaluated annually.

The Pathologist will work alongside an experienced team of pathologists, Pathologists' Assistants, histology professionals, and clinical partners. The position provides exposure to a broad variety of specimens with no autopsy responsibilities and minimal hematopathology. Fellowship training in a pathology subspecialty is welcomed but not required.

H-1B and O-1 sponsorship candidates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and interpret a broad range of anatomic and clinical pathology specimens.
• Review and sign out surgical pathology cases accurately and efficiently.
• Provide high-quality diagnostic interpretation to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and clinical decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with Pathologists' Assistants, histology staff, physicians, and other members of the clinical team.
• Utilize digital pathology technology and laboratory systems to support efficient case review and reporting.
• Review special stains, ancillary studies, and other diagnostic testing as appropriate.
• Communicate pathology findings clearly and promptly with referring physicians and clinical teams.
• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and laboratory compliance initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting.
• Support excellent turnaround times and high standards of diagnostic accuracy.
• Participate in departmental meetings, peer review, and other professional activities as required.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 10% annual performance bonus

• The fully digitized laboratory processes approximately 56,000 cases annually and has a team of 12 pathologists.
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).
• Pathology subspecialty fellowship training is preferred but not required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Indiana medical license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Michigan medical license as required for the practice.
• Strong general surgical pathology knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Comfortable working with a diverse specimen and case mix.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, laboratory professionals, and clinical teams.
• Commitment to diagnostic accuracy, timely case completion, quality improvement, and patient-centered care.
• New graduates and experienced Pathologists are encouraged to apply.
