Data Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to help modernize an enterprise data and reporting environment. This individual will assess the current landscape, define a future-state architecture, and help implement a scalable Microsoft-based data platform.

The organization currently has data distributed across ERP, HR, payroll, project management, marketing, and other business systems. Existing reporting relies heavily on SQL extracts, Python-based ETL processes, Excel, and internally developed solutions.

The goal is to create a centralized and governed data environment using Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI, providing a stronger foundation for financial, operational, and executive reporting.

What You'll Do

Assess the current data, integration, and reporting environment.

Gather business and technical requirements.

Design the future-state data architecture and phased roadmap.

Define the appropriate data lake, warehouse, or lakehouse strategy.

Help implement the initial data platform, pipelines, and integrations.

Establish scalable ETL/ELT, governance, and data quality practices.

Enable Power BI reporting and self-service analytics.

Provide strategic recommendations while remaining hands-on through implementation.

Engagement

This engagement is expected to begin with an initial assessment, architecture, and implementation phase of at least three months, with potential for longer-term consulting, contract extension, or conversion to a permanent role.

Pay Rate Starts at $90.00/ hour depending on experience and expertise
