About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Rehabilitation Specialty: General Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience accepted, including first-time travelers License: State license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Bachelor’s degree or higher Description: Outpatient rehabilitation facility providing services to a variety of patient demographics. Patient types range from adolescents to geriatrics. Focus areas include general orthopedics, low back pain, hip and knee pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, falls, work-related injuries, and general neurology. Typical daily caseload is about 10 patients per 8-hour shift. Skills required include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, mechanical traction, lite gait training, patient education, and pain neuroscience. Preferred skills include vestibular training, dry needling, and blood flow restriction techniques. Support on the unit includes other physical therapists and a manager/supervisor available onsite and via phone. Schedulers are in place to coordinate visits, and a multidisciplinary team includes occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists. Charting is done using a preferred electronic medical record system. Typical equipment utilized includes hand weights, Therabands, resistance machines, aerobic equipment, bikes, and treadmills. Shift times may be flexible, with options for five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts. Holidays require working 50% of contractual holidays. Time off requests can be approved up to 7 days. Attire is business casual.
