Key Responsibilities (Outpatient Spine PA)

• Conduct independent consults and follow-up appointments for neurosurgery spine patients.
• Perform post-operative clinic care including wound care, staple and drain removal.
• Order and interpret imaging, labs, and medications; manage documentation in Epic EMR.
• Triage patient calls and manage clinical aspects of care coordination.
• Support a team of 5 surgeons and 2 physiatrists; collaborate with medical assistants and patient navigators for scheduling and workflow efficiency.
• Optional: perform trigger point, hip, and/or knee injections if credentialed and experienced.

Required Qualifications (Physician Assistant)

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent.
• Active California PA license (required for locum tenens in CA).
• DEA registration with Schedule II/II-N authority.
• BLS certification (AHA).
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience caring for spine patients in ortho spine surgery, neuro spine surgery, or pain management.
• Strong outpatient clinic experience (expected 20-25 patients/day).
• Academic medical center experience strongly preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered).
