Overview / Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Piping Designer to support the design and development of piping systems for state-of-the-art industrial and pharmaceutical facilities. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on complex projects as part of a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive piping design experience, advanced proficiency in 2D/3D modeling software, and the ability to independently manage assigned design tasks while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and technical quality standards. This role also provides opportunities to mentor junior designers, contribute to design improvements, and collaborate with teams across multiple office locations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute piping designs for industrial and pharmaceutical facility projects using advanced 2D/3D modeling software.
• Manage assigned piping design tasks, ensuring compliance with project schedules, budgets, scope, and technical quality requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and coordinate piping system designs.
• Review vendor drawings, equipment layouts, and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project specifications.
• Prepare piping design estimates and support project planning and execution activities.
• Monitor project progress, including earned value and schedule performance, for assigned tasks.
• Identify, document, and communicate scope changes, design modifications, and potential project impacts in a timely manner.
• Support project execution across multiple office locations, coordinating deliverables and maintaining effective communication.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and other team members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, design best practices, and innovative engineering solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of piping design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in 2D/3D piping design and modeling software, such as Hexagon SmartPlant 3D (S3D) or Autodesk Plant 3D.
• Demonstrated ability to independently execute piping design tasks while meeting project schedules and technical requirements.
• Ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience supporting piping design projects within industrial and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
• Experience coordinating design activities across multiple offices or project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, processes, and industry best practices.
• Proactive approach to identifying design improvements and contributing innovative solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior piping designers.
• Candidates located near Cincinnati, OH, are preferred, although qualified candidates throughout the United States will be considered.
