Stylus is an acoustic salon for cultural exploration in the heart of the Lower East Side. Conceived as a world class sonic environment, it is home to ephemeral artistic experiences that will foster conversation, contemplation and connection. With an architectural space both intimate and adaptive, Stylus will bring together thought-leaders and innovators from the worlds of performance, science, technology, music, film and food. Conceived in collaboration with the world’s leading audio experts, a variety of listening rooms will host talented vinyl “selectors” and unique live performances. A recording and podcast studio with a green room is also accessible to members and their teams. Seasonally inspired, locally sourced small plates will be prepared by our in-house culinary team, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Anita Lo and an international rotation of visiting chefs. 

Position Overview:

Stylus is seeking an experienced and dedicated AM/PM Server to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Front-of-House managers and collaborate closely with the entire Stylus team to ensure the seamless operation of our members club, fostering a positive work environment and maintaining the high standards that define our membership experience.

Servers responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Opening and closing the assigned listening room and establishing a good environment so the team is well-prepared to execute a successful service - ensuring all opening and closing side work checklists are completed.
• Guiding members through the food and beverage offerings, ensuring all questions are answered accurately and that recommendations are made in a thoughtful and hospitable manner.
• Having full command of the food and beverage menu items, including ingredients, preparation, techniques, and potential allergens.
• Ability to serve as ambassadors of Stylus and have engaging conversations with members regarding concept, values, featured artists, upcoming events, etc.
• Work together with the kitchen team to conduct seamless and refined service for our guests.
• Working in tandem with Server Assistants and Runners to coordinate a memorable dining experience for all our members.
• Assist with any service needs while on the floor (e.g. room and table maintenance, running beverages from bar, clearing and setting up tables, topping off all beverages, etc.) with an anticipatory, detail-oriented approach.
• Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness throughout all areas of the club before, during, and after service.
• Expected to be constantly growing, learning, and expanding their knowledge base.

Qualified Server must be energetic, enthusiastic, and have a great attitude.

• At least 1 year of serving experience
• Broad and flexible availability to work daytime and evenings
• Possess exceptional floor presence and hospitality reflexes
• Must be able to demonstrate an extensive depth of knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and cocktails 
• Strong communication skills and an ability to connect with members in a personalized and welcoming manner
• Prior experience working in a private members club is a plus but not required
• A genuine passion for hospitality, excellence, and personal growth

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 20 - 30 lbs if necessary
• Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
• Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas
• Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
