Career Opportunities: Heavy Equipment Mechanic Floating (519719) Requisition ID: 519719 - Posted - AMAT - Pennsy Supply Inc - Full Time - Maintenance/Mechanics - United States - Pennsylvania Position Overview The heavy equipment mechanic is responsible for lubricating and servicing the company's mobile equipment including haul trucks and assorted paving and construction equipment. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies. Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc. Maintain personal safety and uphold the highest standard of safety and quality. Lubricate all lube points on equipment. Communicate with shop foreman or site foreman for scheduling and status of repairs. Communicate with vendors and purchasing agent for parts ordering. Identify the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Examine vehicles and identify any possible maintenance issues. Replace parts such as lights, brakes, bearings, springs, etc. Service items such as gearboxes, hydraulic systems, engine oils. Perform basic shop clean up (floors, windows, walls, etc). Empty oil containers and trash containers. Control costs on all repairs. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as assigned. Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public at all times. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Current Drivers License and reliable source of transportation. Must submit a drug screen and criminal background check. Education / Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 2-5 Years of previous experience preferred. Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines. Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems is helpful. Basic computer skills are needed. Experience with diagnostic tools. Able to work various shifts to meet customer demand.
