About the Role Our client is looking for a strategic and operational Fleet Manager to lead their vehicle fleet operations based in Paarl . This role is responsible for managing the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with all regulations. You will oversee vehicle acquisition, maintenance, fuel management, driver management, and route optimization to control costs and enhance efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of fleet operations and maintenance. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies for efficient fleet management, including maintenance schedules and cost control. Oversee the acquisition, allocation, and disposal of vehicles within the fleet. Manage all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and identify opportunities for optimization. Ensure all drivers adhere to company policies, traffic laws, and safety protocols. Manage relationships with third-party service providers, such as maintenance shops and parts suppliers. Requirements Proven experience in fleet management or a related logistics role. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance. Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in fleet management software and systems. Strong leadership and communication abilities to manage drivers and service providers effectively. Relevant qualification in logistics, transportation, or business management is desirable.
