About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in LTAC MS/Tele License: Active SC Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 1 year of EPIC experience. - Experience in LTAC MS/Tele, MS, and PCU. Description: This position requires a registered nurse to work in a Long-Term Acute Care MS/Tele unit. Shifts are scheduled for 3x12 or 4x12 nights from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Floating to other units is required based on unit needs. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, but may vary depending on unit demands. The medication system used is Omnicell. The nurse will manage medications, and provide care to patients with complex medical needs. Responsibilities include administering blood products, managing central lines, and overseeing post-operative care. The nurse will also be responsible for continuous monitoring of patients and interpreting dysrhythmias. Key skills required include management of dysrhythmias, care for patients with respiratory conditions, and experience with intravenous therapies. Experience in performing procedures such as Foley catheter insertion, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care is essential. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with a typical daily census of 15 patients. It is expected that the nurse will work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Compliance with infection prevention protocols is mandatory. The nurse should be adept at managing various medical devices and software, including Epic EMR. Continuous education and training are necessary to maintain competency in all required areas. Traveling nurses with 1+ years of recent experience in a similar unit will be considered.
