Pharmacy TechnicianStatus: Full-time - 700am-330pm, 900am-530pm, 100pm - 930pm, 300pm-1130pm Department: Pharmacy Facility: Atrium Medical CenterA certified pharmacy technician, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, engage in the following activities to the extent that the activities do not require the exercise of professional judgment:Entering information into and retrieving information from a database or patient profilePreparing and affixing labelsStocking dangerous drugs and retrieving those drugs from inventoryCounting and pouring dangerous drugs into containersPlacing dangerous drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacistNon-sterile drug compounding following the completion of site-specific trainingSterile drug compounding following the completion of a site-specific trainingStocking automated drug storage systems, floor stock, and crash cartsMinimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GEDPreferred educational qualifications: Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician education and training programCertified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)Registration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a "Certified Pharmacy Technician" or eligible for registration within 45 days of hire.No prior job-related work experiencePrior hospital, long-term care or retail experience preferredPossess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skillsAble to read and write printed material in EnglishProficiency with computer keyboard operationsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferredAbility to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentageAbility to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy softwarePossess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team memberFlexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
