Quad Advisor

Advise first- and second-year students on course selection, Trinity curriculum requirements, and major exploration Explain academic policies, degree timelines, grading options, and institutional regulations Monitor academic progress and maintain detailed, confidential advising records Support students through academic transitions or difficulties and refer them to relevant campus resources Provide inclusive, developmentally appropriate support for diverse student populations Support quad-based orientation sessions, academic workshops, and community-building events Collaborate with faculty-in-residence, peer mentors, and faculty fellows on quad programming May teach a 0.5-credit first-year seminar or reflective advising course Coordinate advising and support with Academic Deans, Senior Quad Advisors, and campus offices Participate in team meetings and cross-functional training Share insights and trends with advising leadership to improve the advising model Participate in professional development and advising-related training Contribute to assessment efforts, surveys, and feedback collection Stay informed about university policies, academic programs, and student support initiatives Requirements Ability to support first- and second-year students in academic planning, decision-making, and goal setting Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust across a diverse student population Cultural competency and commitment to inclusive advising practices Clear and effective written and verbal communication Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and student support offices Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple advising caseloads and deadlines simultaneously Ability to keep accurate records and document advising interactions Proficiency with student information systems such as Duke Hub, Stellic, or similar Proficiency with learning management systems, advising software, and virtual advising tools Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Familiarity with
